'chagi' or 'bal chagi' is the base word for kick. can someone tell me what 'dolya' means, literally. as far as i can tell, it means turning. the term 'mom dura chagi' refers to 'turning kick'. the term 'deyo dora' means to turn around. here is my question, all three terms refer to turning on some level, but are pronounced differently. why? do i have my terminology wrong? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Call a few, they will tell you the benefits and provide you with a CBA... Not a recommendation of a school, but you might contact the KTA at: Olympic Park 88-2, Oryun-dong, Songpa-gu Seoul, Korea Telephone (02)420-4271 Fax (02)420-4274 for the dojangs in that -gu. Then there is also the Korea TKD MDK Assoc in Mapo-gu at 195-1 Mapo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. They might be able to help with MDK gyms in that area. I had trouble for many years locating information particularly on grandmaster Conde. ( in moving away I have never seen, since moving, grandmaster Conde and I only saw grandmaster Bradley one time) I was a direct student under each of these men and was issued chodan and edan from Conde in 1977 & 1979. Thank you so very much again. Gladewater SooBahkDo wrote: Mr. Cheavens I did some research on the names you mentioned. Roger Bradly, and Fransico Conde. I found both of them in the Moo Duk Kwan data base with dan numbers issued by Hwang Kee KJN. Francis E. Conde was from South Baltamore, Maryland and his Dan Number is #5528 and was issued in 1961. Roger Bradley was born in 1942 and received his dan rank from Hwang Kee KJN in 1967 and was issued #11763. I hope this helps JCGet more from the Web. He is the president of Christian martial artist assoc. He has dan ranking in several different arts but his primary art is Tae Kwon Do. I believe he is a 6th dan in TKD and a 4th or 5th in Wado-ryu. I seem to recall someone on the list [Mr. Woodward ?] seeking a hapkido dojang in that area without any responses. Does anyone have any info/recommendations on a TKD and /or kumdo [or even. gasp, an Iaido school] dojang near my new home? Even TSD would be OK, but would probably pass on WTF style...
