Date: Sun, 8 Oct 2006 00:57:07 -0400 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hi All Master Hackworth Is still teaching and thriving in the Orlando area and since he is a very skilled and convincing speaker he has quit a following. He belongs to the Korea Hapkido Federation Park Chum Chull President Mae Han Hapkido Hun Mae or something like that. It has some kind of Eagle symbol that looks similar to the US government Eagle. He was a fifth Dan in The Taekwondo Chungdokwan under President Woon Kyu Uhm so he had to be pretty good at one time to get that certificate because that is my association and it was much harder to test there than my Kukkiwon test. His problem was he and a group of Korean Masters created a rival group called the National Chungdokwan Association and GM Hae Man Park VP of the original CDK was very upset about that. So his wife who was a Jung Do Kwan member she convinced him switched over to them and he did. I was at a World Hapkido Association Tournament in Orlando this year when I saw Master Mi Yi Hackworth's dojang from the highway so I stopped in for a visit. She explained to me that she did not know all the things her husband had done because in her traditional role as a Korean wife he handled the business but now that is changed. They now support this new organization and she showed me several Dan Certifcates made out from this new KHF made out for those who tested at the masters seminar when President Oh Se Lim visited Hackworth's old school where everything went that could go wrong and his whole life seemed to unravel I was there. So if anyone who tested at that time wants their certificate from this new KHF contact Master Mi Yi Hackworth at this number 321-443-8077 or Americandragononline.com. I am not a student or an affiliate of The Hackworths in any way except that I belong to the same governing bodies he originally belonged to and at one time I thought he had the potential to be a great leader in the Korean Martial Arts so I just went to his seminars which were very expensive and at some times the best and at others the worst. He gave me some good advice on running schools but the last time I spoke to him he asked me to join his Hae Moo Kwan and I refused he then sent me an email that I believe had a virus in it that destroyed my computer so I got the message. Well that is my Hackworth experience MasterM ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin F. Montgomery County police say 37-year-old Ramy Latchinian of Frederick owns the World Taekwondo Masters studio in Rockville. A 24-year-old Laurel woman told investigators he began molesting her in 1996, when she was 14, and began having sex with her when she was 15. Police say the relationship continued until she was 18. Police also say a 16-year-old New Jersey girl told investigators that she was sexually abused at Latchinian's academy from last November to January. Police say Latchinian was arrested at his home September 28th on charges of child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor and various sex offenses. Police say he was released from jail the next day. --__--__-- Message: 5 From: Ray Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re: Which Korean Hapkido Association? Sad to hear that people are still falling for his false claims and can't see that he has a lack of knowledge of the arts. > ... was a fifth Dan in The > Taekwondo Chungdokwan under President Woon Kyu Uhm .... One thing he did do was provide a stream of funds for some in Korea. It is suspected that any dan rank he has over 1st or 2nd dan (in any art) was simply purchased or perhaps forged, it was not earned. Besides telling them to just "be careful", what alternatives to do suggest? I have suggested the sport-style googles with built in lenses, sort of what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar used to wear for the Lakers. If anyone can provide me with some links to sites with alternatives, I would appreciate it. Thank you all. As are contact lenses. Also, having the student work without his or her glasses for things they are very comfortable doing -- a form, say, or kicking a bag, might help. The sports goggles are a good idea. Most bespectacled people I know, simply wear their glasses, not even with a strap to hold them in place, and don't give it any more thought. We are located in the south-eastern part of WV; 90 minutes south east of Charleston, WV, 90 minutes north of Roanoke, VA, and right at 5 hours south west of Washington, DC. I understand GM West will be in Hampstead, MD at Master Boruki's dojang for a semiar at this same time. The USKMAF will be well represented in this part of the country next weekend indeed! If you happen to be in the neighborhood or can make the trip to join us for a terrific seminar, please call me at 304-667-7741 and I'll give you all the information and directions. I hope to see some of you there! One thing I did not care for his front stances they were weak, and the video lacked energy but was certainly good enough for students just learning the forms. I have the latest text book and DVD from Kukkiwon which is much deeper and detailed but this site is a great resource. The site jumps up real fast with six window all at once in Korean just close them and go to select English then go to Information and Poomse then you can select the form you want. Not sure what style of taekwondo you are practicing, but WTF style does not allow any glasses, even sport glasses, while sparring. I myself am blind as a bat, and had to get soft contact lenses, which is the only eyewear allowed under current WTF rules. It's kind of nice not to have the need to push glasses up on your sweat drenched nose while working out, too!
