The incident, according to Grantville Police Chief Franklin Allen, occurred on Friday, Nov. 10, at approximately 9:20 a.m. Coweta County 911 received a call from Terry Clements at 11 Church St. requesting an ambulance. Police were also dispatched to the home. The first responders found the toddler unconscious, and the child was rushed to Newnan Hospital before being transferred to Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center. Doctors at Scottish Rite, according to Allen, initially informed Investigator Todd Hendrix that the front and rear lobes of the child's brain were bleeding, which is an indicator of "shaken baby syndrome." Further testing confirmed that the child's injuries were sustained by violent shaking back and forth. The child will suffer permanent brain damage, Allen said. Clements is a live-in boyfriend with the child's mother, said Allen. Not long after his arrest, Clements was released from the Coweta County Jail on a $10,050 bond. Clements states on his Web site that he is an instructor of a form of martial arts he created called "Bealach de Cath," or "Way of Battle." According to the "wayofbattle.com" Web site, that form of martial arts is "dedicated to achieving perfection in mind, body and spirit through the persistent study of Bealach de Cath, integrating all philosophies of martial arts. We believe respect for others and for ourselves to be essential in mastering the art of perfection. We will strive as both the Art and Artist to express ourselves as balanced warrior." Clements, according to the biography on his Web site, has earned the titles of 1997 Tae Kwon Do National Champion, Georgia State Tae Kwon Do Champion, TKD Master's Tournament Champion, Georgia Games Champion and Georgia TKD Challenge Champion. He states he was also a member of the 1996 Tae Kwon Do Olympic Demonstration Team. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: "michael tomlinson" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: RE: [The_Dojang] KHF seminar Date: Mon, 20 Nov 2006 01:17:45 +0000 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I wish Indiana was a few states closer to Florida!! Hal Whalen and Holcombe Thomas are not only some great Hapkido players but some great people to be around. Getting the opportunity to train and hang out with two of my favorite people in the Hapkido world is a good thing. I bet you all had a fantastic time sweating, laughing, and throwing each other around.
