Reminds me of the old West Coast vs. East Coast karate fights of the 1970s -- and the heroes that came out of those. Of course there will be merchandising out the wazoo, and much ballyhoo (so many nicknames, so little time!), but it shows off the various weight classes and that should increase visibility of the sport. And I thought everybody knew that "Kung-Fu Fighting" is THE martial arts theme song... Jon when were you in Minot AFB? My son Travis is serving there now. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Yes, you are correct... Lim and Yim (LPGA golfer Sung-Ah Yim, among other, romanizes her name that way) are both valid romanizations of what a Korean would pronounce "Im"... Did I mention that I hate romanization? :) Thanks for the reply... **bows** - Bert Edens Springdale, Arkansas -----Original Message----- From: "Dennis McHenry" Subject: [The_Dojang] Pronounce Name Bert, One of my daughters had a Korean teacher who's name was "Lim". I remember seeing her name spelt, and in Hangul looked like "im" to me. So that follows along with what you are saying. It would also be better if they just did not use the term hapkido, as what they are doing has nothing to do with actual hapkido. Merry Christmas Jere R.
