Actually, that comes into play as well. Although I haven't gotten to those techniques as I'm still fairly new at this, that subject has come p as I've been watching the more advanced students and listening to the discussions. The first techniques just involve getting your own body out of the way and controlling the gun. Later techniques address how to control the gun in a way that is aware of the fact that you may have a partner/family member/friend nearby So far I've worked techniques from the side, back, and front. One fun drill is to close your eyes and crank the music (so you can't hear where people are moving). As soon as you feel a tap, you open your eyes, pick up where the gun is, and respond correctly. He is 8 years old and has been training with me for 6 months, but his family is moving out of state. i would very much like to put him into a quality program in Springfield area. Can anyone recommend a good Tang Soo Do instructor/academy or a Karate school that uses the Pinan Kata? My student has been working with Pinan 1, 2 and I will be instructing him on 3 until he departs. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Live Full and Well, J. I just talked to Master Lumpkin (1:15 PM EST), and his surgery went very well. They placed 'rods' between T-12 and T-2, as T-1 was crushed. He related to me that he had just bought the plane (actually an Ultra-lite) and after checking it out completely from top to bottom, and running the engine for quite some time while taxi-ing, he took off and was coming in for a landing when the engine quit. He was approximately 20 feet above the landing surface and hit hard. He was able to keep conscious and call 911 on his cell. He told me that he should be going home tonight or at least this weekend.
