Prior to joining USAT, Wright was the Associate Director of Events for BASS, a division of ESPN Outdoors. BASS is the fishing organization responsible for the popular Bassmaster Classic and Bassmaster Elite Series tournaments seen on ESPN2. Wright has also been a Compound Manager for the host broadcaster of the 2002 FIFA Men's World Cup in Japan, a Regional Logistics Manager for the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and a Venue Logistics Manager at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Summer Games. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at Wake Forest University and received his graduate degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University. "Jim brings a solid background in events management to USAT," said USA Taekwondo CEO David Askinas. "We are excited to have a fresh perspective on the event management aspect of our business. USAT is always striving to put on first-class events and looks forward to utilizing Jim's expertise to enhance existing events and creating new opportunities." USA Taekwondo has also announced that Scott Novack has left his position of Director of High Performance to accept a post with the United States Olympic Committee where he will direct the high performance initiatives for the sport of modern pentathlon. "Scott Novack will be sorely missed by USAT," Askinas said. "He brought sorely needed sports science and organizational skills to the position of High Performance Director. His appointment to the position was derided by some Taekwondo purists but he proved them to be short-sighted in their views. He was a key author of our High Performance Plan for the development of Olympic Gold Medal winners. Scott pioneered the use of new technologies like the Dartfish video analysis system, aided in the development of the educational materials for the Coach Identification and Development Program, brought the use of modern sports science and performance analysis to the sport and successfully integrated our national team coaches into the athlete development planning process. "We are presently conducting a national search for Scott's replacement and we know the new person will have large shoes to fill. Scott has graciously offered his assistance in the transition process and will continue to consult with us as the search for his replacement continues. USAT wishes Scott well in his new position." --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Kay Ethier at Above and Beyond Learning" To: Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2007 22:59:06 -0500 Organization: Above and Beyond Language Learning Inc. Subject: [The_Dojang] Korean Terminology audio CD and book set Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello: My company published "Learning Korean: Martial Arts Terminology", an audio CD and book sets. Our office is moving and we are clearing out our stock so we can reprint with the new address. The CD comes with a book (40+ pages) that includes a Hangul pronunciation guide. Usually we sell the sets for $29.99, and they are currently available on Amazon.com and other sites at that price. Existing copies (we have aout 70 left) are being sold starting now for $18 to anyone who orders and mentions this post. A Korean Master, Dohyun Chang, provided the Korean audio for the CD. The terms on the CD were selected based on my kids' and my studies in our own do jang, and added to by Master Chang and Grandmaster Richard Byrne (who does the English audio for the CD). CD and book info is online here -- http://www.aboveandbeyondlearning.com/product_details.php?prod_id=1 .
