Hey everyone, One way to create a marketing avenue for your school is to contact a local university or college if you have one near you. I just did! I contacted the Alumni Association office at the University of California Chico and I made a partnership with them. We offered a business partnership where they would get a special offer for all their alumni membership and in return they will mail the offer to all their membership of thousandssssss!!! Many of whom are local! I offered $200 toward initiation fees for single, buddy or family membership which includes uniform for any number of them at enrollment. The Alumni Association mails these benefits regularly not only to its current active membership but also to the ones their prospective market (previous non-member alumni) on monthly basis! Now be aware that they do have a board that meets usually on quarterly basis and they evaluate the offers before they approve them. So make sure your offer looks really good as you get a chance to show case your school to a more solid and employed group of your local university graduates. Anyway I hope this idea works out for everyone! It seems as more and more schools, clubs, and professional martial art facilities are opened around the country, it takes strong marketing and business skills to stay competitive and keep your doors open. Keep up the good work. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net JC, Yeah, I knew what you taught, I was just ribbing you. :-) Hey, check this out, I know this is utter stupidity, but its how my brain works. When you were talking about having a strength coach to aid in weight cutting and training, it made me think of something I learned at clinical today. I worked in Dialysis for the day, and we had a patient cut 19 pounds in 4 hours:15 minutes. All human pain and suffereing aside, NOW THATS A DIET! Client was actually quite comical about her crash 'diet'. What do your guys do after weigh in to regain strength and fix the potential problems cutting weight has?
