He has traveled to Dallas quite a bit to work out with us and is very knowledgable. I don't have his email address with me, but if you wish it I will send. This will be one person acting as body guard or parent and trying to keep their child or spouse safe from a group of attackers. The hardest part turns out not to be fighting off the attackers, but stopping the target person from exposing themselves to the attack by trying to run instead of staying with their protector. This may be surprising to some, especially since we do it with all trained students, but even with years of experience, that flight reaction kicks in and off they go. Every week we have a gear up class where we do everything from sport tkd to mma. Every couple weeks we do a similar format where we choose one person as the victim, with a room full of geared up students. One or two attack the victim and the victim needs to take care of biz. Twice per month we do specific scenario training where I suit up head to toe and play a threat. Verbal skills, positioning, and proper actions are needed. We do a wide range of scenarios from doorstep kidnapping for kids, to parking space disputes for adults. I start everyone slow and work them up to full contact pucker factor situations. ____________________________________________________________________________________ No need to miss a message. They are capable of teaching WTF, but have a more solid base in ITF. If you need additional info on the class you can email me directly and I will answer your questions. If you prefer to call, send me your number, I'll call you back. If the base class is not what you are looking for, I am fairly familiar with many Tucson martial arts schools, so if we can't find an exact match, I may be able to help you find a good school in the area he/she could train in/with. Would hate to see a good student get lost in a move. Taekwondo officials from the two Koreas have been in talks to merge the Seoul-based World Taekwondo Federation, which is recognized by the IOC, with the North Korea-backed, Vienna-based International Taekwondo Federation, which is not. The two sides agreed in December to "draw a roadmap for unification," although each organization claims to be the rightful representative for the sport. In January, the ITF launched an affiliate association in South Korea. Chang Ung, North Korea's only IOC member who also heads the ITF, arrived in Seoul along with a North Korean taekwondo demonstration team that will perform twice during their four-day stay. Chang is scheduled to meet WTF head Choue Chung-won on Sunday, said Choi Man-shik, deputy secretary general of the WTF. The two Koreas held four rounds of preliminary, working-level talks on unifying the two taekwondo bodies since 2005, and held their first main talks late last month in Beijing, but little progress was reported. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
