A quiet man who continues to move well and will put the "hurt/fun pain" on those who want to play and who has his history out there for all to see. Regards. I have a March 1986 newsletter from the World Tae Kwon Do Association ( under Master Don Evans ) where they list all instructors that were dropped from the organization because they did not meet Association technical standards. I think this is quit humorous in that here is a guy who unfortunately stepped up and filled a void in promoting the name "Hapkido" to the status it has today but is such a phoney. I would like to Challenge, especially all the senior Masters on this list to start being more provactive in promoting the right image we would like Hapkido to have. Lets get Grandmaster Ji, Master West, or Master Whalen or any of the other Senior Hapkido masters out there on the covers of the magizines and show the world who the real deal is. If when want to stop the slander of our art we love so much lets do something positive to stop it. Myself being involved in Hapkido for many years needs to get of my butt and start writing articles for these magizines and show the public who is the real deal. Just a thought. If anyone out there would like to colaberate on this please email me direct or call my school at 706-776-1026. One of the best run events with some of the best presentations of martial arts I have experienced. I sincerely thank Master Gordon for working so hard to make this a great event and doing such an awesome job of taking care of the seminar teachers and for making certain they were picked up and dropped off at the airports. Way to go Master Gordon! You are a first class host. Grandmaster’s Timmerman and Hwang both presented excellent seminars. Unfortunately I will have to watch GM Timmerman’s seminar on DVD (released soon) because of being under his application of pain and discomfort through the session. Feeling is believing! I enjoyed GM Hwang’s ITF history briefing and the application of the sine wave. There were many elements described that gave everyone a better understanding of it’s effect. It was great to teach, see and train with Masters McMurray, Trudeau, Wing, Custer, Gordon, James, Miner, and DuFour. It was also great to see Masters Poff and Murphy at this years event. I am already putting next years event on the calendar. Keep in mind the NKMAA West Coast seminar on June 23rd in Portland Oregon. I posted sometime earlier about his guilty plea for the 2001 slaying of Ki-gol Lee with a katana. I wrote the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office in Seattle, WA, to make sure I got the facts straight. Here's their reply: "Hui-son Choe was convicted of first-degree manslaughter, and he was sentenced to 110 months confinement on September 13, 2002. I believe the defendant is still in custody of the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC). You can contact DOC at (206) 254-4830."
