He was hoping to train with a local Dojang while "across the pond". He currently trains in TKD, but is open to cross-training in HKD or another art for his stay. He is a red belt with about seven years experience. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, the 2 flicks I >checked out were sword in the moon, and shadowless sword. Check out the Muye Tobo T'ongji, the Korean martial manual from the 1790s. It was largely cribbed from Chinese martial manuals of the preceding two centuries. The two swords it shows are the double-edged straight sword from China and the katana from Japan. Keep in mind, however, that many Japanese swordsmiths were actually Korean laborers who had changed their names. The large single edged straight sword that many Kuksul people use looks more like an executioner's sword.
