It is important and one of the things that separates the Moo Duk Kwan School from those that have broken away from thier roots JC _________________________________________________________________ Don’t miss your chance to WIN $10,000 and other great prizes from Microsoft Office Live http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/aub0540003042mrt/direct/01/ --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Wed, 6 Jun 2007 14:31:34 -0400 (EDT) From: gtkda@ntelos.net To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Oh Do Kwon Jiu Jitsu Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Has anyone ever heard of Oh Do Kwon Jiu Jitsu?  Sounds like a mix of Gen. USA Taekwondo extends its condolences to the family and students of USAT member William "W.T." Alexander of Loveland, Colorado. Alexander, who was to referee at the National Qualifier in Fresno, Calif. this past weekend, died suddenly on Friday while participating in the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run. Alexander was the owner and master instructor of the Oriental Moo Do School of Colorado in Loveland. He taught fitness and self-defense to youth, adults and military personnel after a 20-year career as a United States Marine infantry officer. Alexander was a fifth-degree black belt and had just tested for his sixth degree. He had won two national medals, 13 state championships and two Colorado grand championships. --__--__-- Message: 4 Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] MDK midnight blue To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Wed, 6 Jun 2007 14:16:18 -0700 (PDT) From: rterry@idiom.com (Ray) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net It seems the use of midnight blue is not uncommon amoung MDKers, whether Soo Bahk Do or not. It is just that they often save the midnight blue for more formal events (tests, promotions, big tournys, etc) and use the black for everyday. Seems someone trying to use an old and well known name in a new but unconventional(?) way.
