By the way, the 2 flicks I >checked out were sword in the moon, and shadowless sword. Check out the Muye Tobo T'ongji, the Korean martial manual from the 1790s. It was largely cribbed from Chinese martial manuals of the preceding two centuries. The two swords it shows are the double-edged straight sword from China and the katana from Japan. Keep in mind, however, that many Japanese swordsmiths were actually Korean laborers who had changed their names. The large single edged straight sword that many Kuksul people use looks more like an executioner's sword. It seems like the old guard in the military might be even more reticent about installing one of Kim Jong-il's sons, especially if there is the potential for a power struggle. Does anyone here know to what extent, if any, Kim Jong-il has been grooming his sons for succession? I can say for sure that those Moo Duk Kwan practitioners that train under the founders organization alway have on Blue. Do do anything else would to some seem that you only practice or acknowledge the Moo Duk Kwan philosophy at formal events. When Grandmaster Hwang Kee began using the Midnight Blue Trim he had a purpose for it. Other styles did not use trim at all. They even made fun of it. But he wanted to connect to the early Korean history and separate his style from those others that did not share his ideas. Now it seems everyone uses trimed uniforms. He also chose Blue to show humility and to show that Dan level was not the finish but a beginning. So why would a MDK practitioner have on black trim during the week and Blue at a formal event. It would seem that they are demonstrating two different phiopsophies I have an idea that it is becaue society has made the Black Belt a symbol to the general public. It is the best, the highest level, it carries with it authority and respect. They blue carries with it questions to the general public like why do you have a blue belt are you not a black belt. Then people put on the blue to connect to thier MDK history. It is sad to me.
