I just have few questions; does anybody know the history of bahng mahng ee or double stick form? The person who introduced the curriculum to ATA? Does it have transitional applications? Thanks in advance. Clint I can't speak for other influences on the ATA stick material. But the head of Pro-Tech came out for a weekend and learned much of what is the ATA stick curricullum from Grandmaster Mike Inay, of Inayan Eskrima. I was personally their and helped in the teaching. I want to say his name was GK Lee but this was 93 or 94 so I don't remember for sure. It was later stated incorrectly, that this material was Korean stickfighting. Clarification on Repechage System To: Presidents and Secretaries General Member National Associations of the World Taekwondo Federation From: WTF Re: Two Bronze Medals at the Olympic Games - Clarification on repechage system Dear Sir/Madam, This is in regard to the IOC's decision on two bronze medals for taekwondo at the Olympic Games. The IOC decided to award two bronze medals in the taekwondo competition at the Olympic Games beginning with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. However, the repechage system will not be abolished. The IOC Sport Department clarified on July 3, 2007 that two bronze medals have been allocated to taekwondo to avoid the winners of the two repechage tournaments having to fight another match to determine the (one) bronze medalist. The repechage system will be maintained and the difference will be that both winners of the respective repechage matches will receive a bronze medal, according to the IOC. Thank you for your kind attention on this matter. Sincerely yours, Jin Suk Yang Secretary General World Taekwondo Federation --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
