It was the same stuff I used on patrol. I did 10 years on the cop job and had oh so many chances to use my joint locking skills against people who really didn't feel like being compliant. Man, that was fun! I still get success stories from folks on the job who use the lock flow I taught them. The techniques have also made their way into the state police training curriculum via former combatives students. Learn to do the techniques correctly and slowly have your partner increase their resistance. I forget who said it but a phrase comes to mind----'its not that aikido doesn't work...its that YOUR aikido doesn't work' Mark Gajdostik TNT Martial Arts 503-640-8400 www.TNTma.com --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Dugy" To: Date: Sat, 18 Aug 2007 16:18:38 -0400 Subject: [The_Dojang] video clip: 2nd dan knife defense Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Ray, Can you pls send me this video or tell me where I can see it? Ive been doing Hapkido since I was 5, and if not for Hapkido I would have been dead. I was able to disarm 2 of them and the other one I used his momentum to put the knife in his thigh. I had like 3 witnesses because my neighbors were coming out of their house when it happened and charges were dismissed on Self-Defense. I used the same joint locks and throws Ive been practicing my entire life in Hapkido to disarm the other two. yours truly, AJ --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
