Another thought on guns and knives, check out the Tueller Drill. It is simply action vs. re-action. Get into the Dojang and practice, practice, practice you empty hand knife defenses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tueller_Drill This has been a thread in the recent past, but check out Surviving Edged Weapons, a LE training video from Caliber Press if you can find it. It is an eye opener. ----- Original Message ----- From: "michael tomlinson" To: Sent: Monday, August 20, 2007 2:14 PM Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re: The best knife defense > Ray writes: Proper use of firearms is simply another martial art requiring > training > and practice. > > I couldn't agree more...proper use and expertise comes with safety first, > and then execution of proper repetition,....just like all the kicking, > throwing, grappling, etc....that we all do...the only difference is that > firearms are "forever" so you need to be safe and serious..and learn from > good people...just like Craig Stovall wouldn't go to Wal Mart to learn > Brazillian JuJitsu...firearms should be learned from some competant > instructors... > > Michael Tomlinson > > _________________________________________________________________ > More photos, more messages, more storage-get 2GB with Windows Live > Hotmail. > http://imagine-windowslive.com/hotmail/?locale=en-us&ocid=TXT_TAGHM_migration_HM_mini_2G_0507 > _______________________________________________ > The_Dojang mailing list, 2,200 members > The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net > Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and Martial Arts Resource > Standard disclaimers apply Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
