RE: LEO/CO Close Quarter Combat Training (Dennis Overall) --__--__-- Message: 1 From: "Dennis Overall" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: RE: [The_Dojang] LEO/CO Close Quarter Combat Training Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2007 12:20:26 -0500 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Another point to ponder as well Mr. Cyrus...is the fact that some so called trainers have never been in a true altercation in which they were truly in danger of death or serious injury period.  There are also "paper tigers" out there that proclaim techniques and procedures for various situations that they have never been afforded the opportunity to use themselves in a life death altercation.  Courage and fear are major factors that we never see discussed. It's hard to be prudent or reasonable when you lack courage or lack faith in your martial skills.  Law enforcement training academy is comparable to martial arts training siminars in the fact that...without a continuace training program in which the officers receive constant weekly training and practice, the skill is not retained and cannot be automatically applied as a response when needed.
