It should take you about a weekend to get through it, but well worth it. You can probably order it direct from your local Amazon store! (there's a video available also, if you prefer) Dynamic stretching each morning and isometric stretching techniques seem to be key. There is also discussion of the PNF techniques that Professor Clark mentioned. There is even a quick test on the back page which allows you to determine what the author calls your 'maximum potential range' Cheers, Rob >>>>>>Subject: [The_Dojang] Stretching To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net From: Victor.E.Dodge@jci.com Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2007 13:29:05 -0500 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I would like to initiate a discussion about stretching techniques - static vs dynamic, passive vs aggresive, partner stretching vs stretching machines, etc. etc. etc. I seem to have reached a stretching limit that I am unable to get past and I am considering drastic measures to make further progress. If you'd like an option would be a plaque with the belt attached. In your records, make a distinction on the Dan or Master number for example: P-12345 with the 'P' representing posthumous. Master Kevin Case UTSDA From: Kent pike To: Date: Sun, 2 Sep 2007 09:23:13 -0400 Subject: [The_Dojang] posthumous promotion Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Our school recently lost a 3rd Dan student who died suddenly at age 49. His Wife has told me how much his martial arts training had meant to him, and that He was looking forward to becoming a master. I would like to award him Posthumously a 4th Dan certificate and belt, and present it to his wife at our Next black belt testing. I have never had to deal with anything like this Before, and I was wondering if anybody knows of any protocal or guidelines, or Has any suggestions regarding this matter. Thanks for the help, Kent _________________________________________________________________ [demime 0.98e removed an attachment of type image/jpeg which had a name of faint_grain.jpg] --__--__-- Message: 3 To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net (The_Dojang) Date: Mon, 3 Sep 2007 08:28:57 -0700 (PDT) From: rterry@idiom.com (Ray) Subject: [The_Dojang] Poomsae DVDs Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net A Concerned Mom wrote: > .... There is an additional one on Power High Kicks with no warmup. Some really excellent information in both the books and videos. I have slowly been moving my entire class into changing the old methods and getting them to work his program not just in class but if not as important then more importantly is the at home workouts.
