There seems to be an ongoing problem for parents to just dump their kids 
without doing ANY chekcing or supervision, and no amount of rules is going 
to replace a concerned parent doing a job that comes with having kids to 
begin with.  Parents are not forbidden to attend these classes, they just 
don't bother to show up and do some checking themselves.  Heaven forbid that 
they show the kid some loving attention by simply being interested enough to 
participate in their activities.

I have had a kid at my school until 11 pm (class ended at 7) because parents 
"forgot" her, and I ended up having to call Police to take her (after 
exhausting every other option).  Sad state of affairs that is, and there is 
not a rule that can be made to correct the apparent apathy of many parents 
these days.  How in the hell can a parent forget their kid???  IMHO you 
either CARE about your child and do some checking yourself, or you don't and 
expect others to do your job for you.

Subject: [The_Dojang] ITF Grand Master Rhee & Hwang

Spoke to Grand Master Rhee and Grand Master Hwang today and they will both
be here in Crestview, FL for the November 10th weekend.  I don't know how
long it's been (if ever) Grand Master Hwang and Grand Master Rhee have
conducted a joint seminar so you don't wanna miss this.  Black belt testing
is Friday night and seminar is 9AM-5PM on Saturday.  Check the website
www.unified-itf.com as there should be more information posted this weekend
with costs, itinerary, hotel info, etc.  

 

On July 1, 1997, Grand Master Rhee was the first person promoted to ninth
degree by Taekwon-Do's founder, General Choi.  Grand Master Hwang and Grand
Master Sereff were both promoted to ninth degree later that year on December
8.  This will be a ten year anniversary of their ninth degree promotion.
