Has anyone seen coverage of the NKers? Does their TKD look to be more ITF or more Kukki style? I saw a very short video snippet and seemed to notice a bit of the ITF sine wave. Yes? He has checked on the web and found that while Century makes a size 13, their largest, it is actually one size smaller. Does anyone know where to get size 13 foot gear? Thanks. I find this interesting because in 2002 a student of Grandmaster Seo In Sun, Master Kim Jong Song engineered a take over. Since then, Master Kim was pushed out by a group of masters. As far as I can ascertain, Master Kim took over Korea Kido Hwe because he felt that Grandmaster Seo was embracing too many international practitioners and promoting them to high ranks. Further Master Kim felt that only Koreans should be promoted to such high ranks in order to maintain control of Korea Kido Hwe. This is not surprising because the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) has essentially done the same thing. Korea Kido Hwe is now no different than any other martial art organization in South Korea. It has dwindled in membership considerably over the past five years. This myth that an organization has to be "recognized by the Korean Government for its ranks to mean something" is just that , myth. It all comes down to one's relationship with his/her teacher and the reputation of that teacher. Given the previous position of the hierarchy of Korea Kido Hwe, I was surprised to see GMs Kimm and West appointed as U.S. representatives. Ian A. IMHO it seems the real problem Gm Seo had was in promoting too many to ranks that they clearly did not deserve. e.g. Gm P. However it seems all those ended up in the World Kido Federation and not in the Korea Kido Hwe.
