Thanks, Rudy. You made a lot of good points. I also think you were very "diplomatic" which also can sound a bit "avoidant", if you know what I mean. What I hear in many discussions are such matters as what an organizations' published goals are and who has the "right" or "authority" to take on those goals. However, in practice, these organizations always seem to come back to generating revenues and the direction that those revenues move, yes? In the case of the WKF, there are never any lack of folks to laud SEO In Sun for the unifying effect he wants to have on Hapkido practitoners. Very few folks want to talk about what he does with those individuals once he has them signed-up and has their money. As far as I have been able to tell none of the managers of his organization, nor he himself have raised the level of accountability for what people know and how they perform. I have this gut feeling that if I came to him and wanted some rank and was willing to pay the money, I could pretty much have that rank and few questions asked. How might this be any better than what we have had in the Hapkido community for the last 50 years or so. Turning the leaf over, what can we expect from the KIDOHAE now that they are opening a branch here in the States? Need I be a practitioner of HANMUDO before I can get rank? Why would that be? Will anyone actually check my bonafides to see if I actually merit standing? Who will that be? What will the criteria be? I guess my point is that anybody with a bellybutton can tout an organization. Is anyone actually going to talk about how things have improved by virtue of some new organization coming on the scene? Thoughts? At the meeting, the WTF, the world's sole taekwondo governing body recognized by the International Olympic Committee, and the ITF led by North Korean IOC member Ung Chang, agreed to set up poomsae and kyorugi subcommittees under the Coordination Committee for Taekwondo Integration. The poomsae and kyorugi subcommittees, which will be composed of experts in their respective fields and be simultaneously operated, will deal with in detail possible technical integration matters of the two takewondo bodies, according to the joint communiqué. The WTF dispatched a six-member delegation for the Beijing meeting, headed by Mr. Dai-soon Lee, vice president of the WTF; while the ITF sent a five-member delegation, led by Mr. Ryu Song-il, chairman of the Merger Committee of the ITF and special assistant to the ITF president. --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 08:06:29 -0700 From: The_Dojang To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] URL for the WTF poomsae chip Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net URL for the WTF poomsae chip. http://www.koreaopentkd.com/main_en.asp --__--__-- Message: 5 Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 13:20:03 -0700 From: MartialArtsResource To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net, eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Fwd: Casting - Martial Artists Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net forwarding... ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: De Simone Casting Date: Oct 24, 2007 1:08 PM Subject: Casting - Martial Artists To: De Simone Casting Hi My name is Sean De Simone and I am casting a new show for the Discovery Channel and am in search of Martial Artists and other forms of combat fighters.
