Who was moved against? Whose rank was lowered/was threatened to be lowered? Who in the KKW did this? I'll note that the KKW publishes its dan rank fees--as such, it seems odd to think that they would then _expect_ instructors to have different fee levels. If an instructor wants to provide KKW certs to his students free, the KKW won't care---since then the instructor has to pay for them. And it isn't as if the KKW makes MORE money when an instructor charges more, since the instructor pockets the difference---the KKW has set fees for their ranks. Speaking of local TKD, who "in your neck of the woods" will visit your dojang after hours to threaten you? Names, please. After all, we are talking about a criminal act, here--so I presume that as a criminal act, this is a matter of public knowledge. How many times has this happened? To whom? What occurred? How much is "too low a cost"? Thomas No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. I received some kind words of encouragement from Master Bong Soo Han. To most people they'd mean nothing. I am a HapKiDo teacher in the country of Panama. Have been teaching Song Moo Kwan HapKiDo since February 1977 and I keep my self in good health by training dailly. Have a School and teach children, youth and adults every week from Monday untill Fridays all year round. I am preparing for my 5th Dan under Grand Master/KwanjangNim Park, SongIL 9th Dan and founder of Song Moo Kwan HapKiDo System. My teacher continues training too at age 62 of youth like me. For sure no one can beat age but surelly one can keep health better than not training and have more energy than most youth and I have seen a lot of people that are martial arts instructors or teachers with over weight that I respect their action thought itb is not a good esxample. Yes, there are some times that most of us at ages 50 and over that have some pain some were in our body thought you must keep it up. Keep it up with more ease than normal until you feel stronger. You see, most people think that when you keep training and have some acke you must train harder and this will get you weaker and pain shows up for longer time but if you slow down your movements and you will see that your body wil get stronger again so give it a chance and do not stop trainig so your body can get better because this makes it weak. (if I mis-spelled any words, sorry) You all that are over 45 and continue training keep it up keeping your youth at your age. See I think that if you care, teach with compassion, show vested interest, communicate, protect, honor and serve your students and there friends and families. Then YOU are what martial arts is about, it don't matter what style, but to martial arts in general. I hope that you all have searched yourself deeply, and realized that you could be called, "Master, Hong Kong Fuey, OUATEONETWO(O U ATE 1 , etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. et _____________________________________________________________ Get a web-based email for life now ---> http://mail.hapkidokr.org --__--__-- Message: 5 From: "ISA Headquarters" To: Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2007 10:27:52 -0500 Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: Reply to comments Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net To all, I wasn't going to reply to all of this nonsense, but I will say a few choice words, which you can read or not! I consider Ray, Sid and Steve friends of mine and I owe them all a sense of gratitude for being my friends. It really doesn't matter to me what anyone thinks of me, what I do or how I do it. Not to get too religious, but I know of only ONE man who "walked on water" and there is no one on this DD that does that. If you don't like what I say or do, fine with me. I will be in Kenner, Louisiana on Nov. 30th, Dec. 1st & 2nd if you wish to show me the error of my ways. We can sit down and talk 'face to face' instead of through the DD. Truth be known, I have been on the DD since 1997 and really enjoy some of the conversations. Back to lurking mode for me. Have a Merry CHRISTMAS all. Respectfully, George I. I have spent several months looking for a martial arts style that would provide me the sort of training, conditioning and principles to fulfill my personal needs. Yes, I ran the gambit of trying out different styles such as Krav Maga, Karate and MMA-like styles. Eventually, I found one that works for me. Interesting enough, I never looked at what sort of degree a particular Instructor, Master or Grandmaster may possess; however, I did gauge their credibility by the way they conduct themselves, the principles they ascribe to; the history and background of their styles, and the respect they hold towards their students. As for the earning a degree, we sometimes forget that a degree represents the path one takes to gain knowledge, or as for honorary degrees, the contribution one gives to improves the lives of others and betterment of society in general. In short, these degrees must be meaningful, not only to that individual that earned it, but to others who reads that document. When it comes to fraudulent degrees, I have always believed that these sorts of "degrees" eventually gets discovered and discredited; whereas that person becomes a liar and looses all credibility with their students and local community. Typically, that person's behavior, conduct and training principles serve as the biggest indicator of fraud, not the paper.
