Any ideas? I've mastered the languages almost, now I need to find the training. Before I leave I may be interested in looking for a Hapkido or Jeet kune Do school, dojo to begin training. Does anyone know of some in the Ohio Area?? And if not, where? If the move's not too great I may consider it. I teach Tang Soo Do and used to go to the local store and get it from the sewing/material department, but it becomes a pain when cutting it to the different sizes (big/small uniforms). I've searched over the net and only found one place, but I would like to see what other options/choices are around. Any suggestions will be appreciated. About 70 instructors from across the country met in Melbourne at the weekend and voted for the constitution. More than $1million in Australian Sports Commission funding for Taekwondo Australia Inc was withdrawn in October after the organisation failed to adopt a similar constitution that was drawn up in 2005. TAI was subsequently banished from the Australian Olympic Committee fold and dumped by the World Taekwondo Federation. When its was revealed by The Australian in October that the funding had been withdrawn, TAI disbanded its elite program, disrupting the training of athletes preparing for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. TAI spokeswoman Kate Eggar said the new constitution had "as its backbone" key elements of the 2005 document but changes were recommended by the ASC this year. "It's the 2005 constitution but made better," Eggar said. "And the meeting emphatically accepted it. We needed 75 per cent majority of the votes there and we got well in excess of that. "It was a clear direction from the members that this is what they wanted." TAI was almost torn in two, with opposing ideological and business veiwpoints on how the sport should be run. Eggar conceded there were still members within TAI who objected to the proposed changes. The new constitution has now gone to the ACT registrar to be officially lodged, as TAI is based in Canberra. The 16-member executive council of TAI no longer exists and has been replaced by a nine-member board of directors, six of whom were confirmed at the weekend meeting. There will be expressions of interest called for three appointed positions, which are skills-based. An advisory committee representing all states and territories has been set up to have input into areas of policy and training. The ASC wanted greater transparency and structural efficiency within TAI before federal funds were reinstalled. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2007: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
