The fact that they are across the street is even better because the interest you create there the new student has only to look across the street if they want the total class or a real commitment to training. You should use a Brown belt or 1st Dan wanting to advance in rank and make that a requirement to teach the new class on Tuesdays and Thursdays or after school only. This would be a very basic beginners class and if they want to learn more or train 5 days a week they have to go to your main Do Jang. Also the YMCA is a large non-profit with many good business connections and funding for grants. If you are successful in helping underprivileged or community youth and adults you may make a good connection to adults that control money or other areas you could use assistance in. Also one last thought, if it is a nice YMCA with swimming pools, sauna, and state of the art weight room which your Do Jang probably does not, negotiate free use of their facility for you and any instructors you may have and that make great cross conditioning asset for you and your instructors. Done this way it is extra money and invaluable marketing for your Dojang. The dismissed employees held a protest rally and a press conference in front of the WTF headquarters on March 13, calling for the WTF's immediate withdrawal of its dismissal decision. At the press conference, they kept harassing and bringing disgrace to the WTF and taekwondo by raising unfounded allegations. They, however, failed to get any supportive media attention. The WTF is now in the process of referring the two dismissed persons to the Korean prosecution for their "irresponsible" behaviors and allegations, as well as their alleged bribe-taking in connection with their duties. The WTF made it clear that it will no longer endure any groundless allegations against the WTF, which could damage the WTF's status in international sports circles. On March 7, the WTF informed the two employees of their termination of employment for their negligence of duties and bringing disgrace to the WTF, in accordance with the final decisions of the WTF's ad-hoc Sanction Committee. The Sanction Committee recommended the WTF Secretary General to take immediate action. Under Article 24 of the WTF Rules and Regulations, the WTF established the ad-hoc Sanction Committee, which held two meetings on Feb. 29 in Beijing and on March 3 in Seoul. The Sanction Committee was set up according to the meeting results of the WTF's ad-hoc Investigation Committee held on Feb. 12 in Seoul. Gen Ahmed Fouly, vice president of the WTF and president of the African Taekwondo Union, headed the Investigation and Sanction Committees. The Investigation Committee was formed at the recommendation of the Joint Meeting of the WTF Continental Union Presidents and Secretaries General held in Seoul on Jan. 10 this year and the approval of the WTF's Executive Committee meeting held the following day. The Joint Meeting of Continental Unions called for an immediate formation of an ad-hoc Investigation Committee to conduct a thorough probe of a series of rumors and allegations levied against the WTF leadership over the last several months, as well as WTF staff members' negligence of duties and other irregularities. At the Seoul Sanction Committee on March 3, the Sanction Committee called in the two WTF staff members for questioning about their negligence of duties and their actions which brought disgrace to the WTF. The two dismissed employees were all involved in irregularities related to WTF refereeing and judging in 2006 and were found guilty by the Korean judiciary system. The WTF would like to call the attention of the global taekwondo family that the two dismissed employees would continually keep harassing and bringing disgrace to the WTF and taekwondo by raising unfounded allegations. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2008: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
