To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Sure extra tools are great to have, as long as they truly exist. To me it sounds like some mess whipped up by someone who tells the super-chi man stories. I've been taught breathing exercises to calm the mind and body, and to prepare for real time combat. Yes you can breath in such a way that it pumps you up sort of speak; think weight lifters. But all this talk about fire breathing being dangerous because in the wrong hands people can't control themselves doesn't sit right with me. Any breathing exercise can be dangerous because if performed incorrectly it could cause internal damage, but because you have temporary insanity sounds like craziness. This is along the same lines as those guys who teach chi projection to stop an opponent, yet when it's time to show and prove they get K.T.F.O! lol The only thing that I've seen/personally experienced that makes someone lose control (because it's given to another) is when you invoke a spirit; you're basically giving them the driver seat. Jye daomyer@aol.com wrote: Jye So if you had an extra tool you could use you would not. Blind rage is one thing but emotional driven adrenalin rush seems like a natural boost that could add the edge. Why not have the extra tool available if you could decide how and when to use it. To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net This is basically one of those things were a teacher tells a student something and the student believes it without questioning or researching it. So as the student believes it, they make it become reality. for instance, take a shy guy teach him breathing exercises, then say I'm gonna teach you this special breathing exercise that will make you a lady magnet. The whole thing could be fake, but if he believes it he will make it true, not because of magic or some ancient chinese secret but because of what he beleives. So with the breathing he thinks he's changing into a lady magnet, when all that's happening in reality is his confidence to speak to women has increased and women like a confident man. don't know if I explained that clearly.
