I even had one last year from someone saying that they wanted me to train their autistic son and that all they needed was my information so they could plan their move to my area????? Can you believe that one!! When you get on here and say that you will write the letter and all you need is a signature.....well my BS meter started redlining....that just doesn't sound on the up and up to me... I have not spoken to him directly about it yet, however there is a link on the new (still under construction) website www.hanmudo.com with details. From what I understand it includes many unique photographs from Dr. Kimm's vast collection. I intend to get my copy this Saturday if I can. Those masters then disappear into the country side when their visa's run out and new masters appear?> That happened at our school twice that I remember. It was back around 1981 and 1984. We were told that we were "sponsoring" an instructor from Korea. I don't remember any overtones of Koreans being better than Americans but, it did feel like an underground railroad. I let one of them room with me for about 3 months. After about 6 months, like you say, they were in the wind. It looks good on paper as the master gets someone to teach at his/her dojang every night for a year or so and all they pay is to fly them here and back, and give them a mattress in the back room of the dojang to sleep on. The freshface gets to work on their English. Gains experience in teaching, esp to Americans, and perhaps makes contacts that will help them return to the US. In the above they always return to Korea. If they did not return the master would not be able to bring in a new freshface once the former's time had expired. I know one fellow that has done this maybe a dozen or two dozen times.
