Preschool: white, white w/yellow, white w/green. 7 tips per belt. I use the white belts with the color down the middle Kids: white, yellow, green, purple, brown, red, black. 7 tips per belt. I use the colored belts with the white stripe down the middle. Adults: white, yellow, green 1, 2, purple 1, 2, brown 1, 2, 3, black. Solid belts. No stripes except the one that indicates level of color; ie: brown w/3 stripes etc. Testing and graduations are done during regular class. Stripes for kids are a great motivator, and it helps me instantly know exactly what skills they need work on. Oh, and I charge zero for belts. I have a full rack of belts that I paid lots of money toward...I swore when I had my own place I would NOT pay that forward.... I have to tell ya, I had visited a school in Calif, and they not only had like , 17colored belts, they also had a progressive increments of charges for each test... I think it stated with $35 per belt test and increased $10 for each additional test.... AND then there are schools and philosophies like yourself, that motivate in a good manner....and keep good business ethics as well ! Bows to you, sir !!!
