If he wants ITF TKD promoted as a true martial art, then he should consider utilizing ALL techniques captured in the general's encyclopedia. But before doing that he should do away with impractical techniques like flying in techniques...lol.   Jye --- On Sat, 8/2/08, Ray wrote: From: Ray Subject: [The_Dojang] Promote ITF Taekwon-Do as a True Martial Art To: "The_Dojang" Date: Saturday, August 2, 2008, 11:23 PM By the president of one of the ITFs. http://tkd-itf.org/pub_web/ver_eng/ITFA10082008.html _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list, 2,400 members The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net Copyright 1994-2008: Ray Terry and Martial Arts Resource Standard disclaimers apply Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2008 13:08:07 -0700 (PDT) From: Jye nigma To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Fw: Grappling video Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Here's a gracie's BJJ video clip for all you grappling lovers out there: http://www.56. com/w21/play_ album-aid- 310976_vid- MjI5MTc4MTE. html   BTW, how extensive is hapkido's ground game?   Jye . __,_._,___ --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2008 13:19:50 -0700 From: Mu.Duk.Kwan To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Black Martial Artist Loses Olympic Dream Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Veronica Mackey Inglewood Today A worldwide movement is underway now to protest the Tae Kwon Do Olympic competition in Beijing next week in support of Nia Abdallah. The black U.S. Olympian has cried fowl after losing the trial match to Diana Lopez. A silver medalist in 2004, Abdallah made history as the first U.S. female medalist in the Tae Kwon Do event since it became an official Olympic sport. She is also the first and only African-American to medal in the sport, and holds the record for the most points ever scored in Olympic Tae Kwon Do competition. Still, judges gave the 2008 Olympic trial match to Lopez, ending Abdallah's quest for Olympic gold this year. The controversy has stirred an international cry for justice, in light of videos circulating over the Internet, where 99% of viewers declared Abdallah the clear winner over Lopez. The crowd even booed Lopez when Abdallah did not receive the title. Martial arts experts have called the judging an "outrage." Supporters are demanding answers from the U.S. Olympic Committee, which held the trial match in Des Moines, Iowa. "When I won the silver medal in 2004 I was depressed because I felt I'd failed my country when I didn't win the gold. Afterwards, I totally dedicated myself to winning the gold in 2008. Now this," said Nia Abdallah, at a recent press conference and rally. Supporters say Abdallah has been robbed of her Olympic dream and are urging Tae Kwon Do athletes and enthusiasts to turn their backs just before Lopez competes in Beijing. "When I was 4 years old I told my grandfather, who was a fan of Jesse Owens, that one day I was going to win the Olympics. Since a little girl I have been headed in this direction. I'm still in shock," Abdallah stated. "This is not sour grapes with me. I just don't want the next kid to go through what I'm going through." Abdallah is also a member of the Tae Kwon Do Hall of Fame and the Black Belt Hall of Fame.
