Kukki-TKD is a martial sport and taken to its conclusion leads to TaekwonMu (Korean dance application to TKD). The point? So What?! TKD is what it is...Goju Ryu is what IT is and so on. I am proficient in American boxing, MooDuk Kwan and Kukki-TKD. I wouldn't bother to compare. I love each individually and one "may" be more rigorous than another but for me, these choices have served me well through the years. I do understand Master Jye's point as it has great merit. Bottom line? I love the lofty acrobatics of Kukki-TKD. Master Zishe **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? Just my opinion. Jye __________________________ While TKD is not the only system that has this problem, it does seem to be more prevalent within the TKD community then any other. The overall quality of TKD training is horrible. I base this on what I have seen within the USA and from what I have been told by native Koreans regarding the quality of TKD training in Korea. As well as what I have seen from Koreans moving to the USA and continuing their training in dojangs in this area. This results in poorly trained practitioners who look horrible when performing their forms. They don't have any clue about proper stances, generating power from the hips, what they are blocking or attacking, proper angle of the joints for accurate execution of techniques, weight distribution, etc. So, when you see most people performing TKD forms now-a-days it's almost comical, unfortunately. It is even more unfortunate for these people because they don't know how bad they really are. Their instructor is promoting them when their performance is substandard, and they are being rewarded in tournaments for this terrible execution of techniques. Because of this trend, every future generation of TKD practitioners will get worse and worse. We are already seeing it around this area..."Masters" opening their own schools when their training was incredibly poor. So, their students will likely be worse than they are. The future is not bright. -Chris --__--__-- Message: 3 From: Ray To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re:Poomse Worst or just different Date: Sun, 14 Sep 2008 15:09:30 -0700 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Naihanchi?
