At the same time there is incredible interest in UFC style MMA as seen on cable tv.? I guess people wish they could be tough without the work? I think there's plenty of folks that want to train and do train hard for MMA. They are probably that 1 in 10 that would have been a top student. The problem is every time they went to see a school and it was a kiddie after school session and they were left chasing Tiger Dragons around, they left for a sweat shop that felt like a place they could lay down some serious action. Same goes for Olympic style TKD. Its boring. MMA was born out of the K-1 and Pride style fighting which again came from the old sparring. This does not say folks dont want to work hard it states they dont want to work hard for boring point fighting. Dave O. Or the work they do there is all they do for their training. The serious ones (i.e. ones that dream of competing) train outside the gym or dojang to improve their performance during their training in the gym or dojang.
