Well after a grueling search and numerous phone calls I found this site http://www.academictaekwondo.com/index.html and thought I would post it for all those interested. Dan A. No. 08/437 October 6, 2008 To : Presidents, Member National Associations Presidents, Continental Unions, Re : Dispatch of 2008 Winter WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps Teams Dear Sirs/Madams: After a successful 2008 Summer WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps program, the World Taekwondo Federation will send 2008 Winter WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps teams to selected WTF member national associations for one to two months this winter. This past summer, a total of 27 Taekwondo Peace Corps members were selected and they underwent two weeks of intensive training-camp education course in the fields of competition, poomsae and taekwondo demonstration. Seven teams were dispatched for about one month to five countries – Russia (Moscow), India (Bombay and Goa), Pakistan (Islamabad), Paraguay (Asuncion), and China (Qingdao and Urumqi). Reflecting the successful Taekwondo Peace Corps activities, a growing number of countries are showing interest in the program. Each team consists of four people - three taekwondo practitioners with at least 3rd Kukkiwon Dan certificate holders, and one with proficient language skills. The WTF will pay for the round-trip airfares for the members of the dispatched Taekwondo Peace Corps teams, while the successful applying member national associations are required to provide the members' accommodations, meals and local transportation during the dispatch period, as well as the provision of a local guide. After consultations with applying member national associations, the WTF will finalize the team's dispatch period and other necessary matters. Any WTF member national associations interested in the 2008 Winter WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps program can download the application form for the dispatch of the 2008 Winter WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps teams from the WTF's official Web site (www.wtf.org) and fill out the attached application form before sending it to us either by fax (82 553 4728) or email (general@wtf.org). The deadline for the submission of the application form is October 31, 2008 and the successful applicants will be notified in late November or early December. Since the WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps is operated as one of the WTF Solidarity programs for technical enhancement of WTF member national associations, I ask for your active participation in the 2008 Winter WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps program. Sincerely yours, Jin Suk Yang Secretary General of the WTF Director General of the Taekwondo Peace Corps --__--__-- Message: 5 Date: Mon, 6 Oct 2008 14:10:20 -0700 From: The_Dojang To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Gold at Pan Am Chip Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Paige McPherson Claims Gold Medal on Final Day of Pan Am Championships Bill Kellick USA Taekwondo October 5, 2008 Female welterweight Paige McPherson (Sturgis, S.D.) capped an eight-medal performance by the U.S. team by winning the gold medal on Sunday's final day of the Pan American Taekwondo Championships in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
