The more I can find out the easier it will be to either commit or choose to walk away. Thank you for all your feedback -- more feedback and comments could be helpful -- Joel [Oh and there is a hapkido program out of a mega-church called Right Cross Mixed Martial Arts which I've looked at and found to be more suited to the young who heal quickly] --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "TNT Martial Arts-Hillsboro" To: Date: Mon, 13 Oct 2008 18:19:47 -0700 Subject: [The_Dojang] Martialinfo proudly presents Hyung: K-Town Chronicles is LIVE! Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hyung: K-Town Chronicles is LIVE! On Oct. 11th2008, Fighting Styles Productions will be releasing a new short film, Hyung: The K-Town Chronicles, where the story follows a fictional alternate life of Hwa Rang Do heir, Taejoon Lee ('Tae' in the film), as he is drawn into the dark-side of Koreatown. The film's fight scenes take on a very fresh and eclectic blend of ground fighting, lightning fast stand-up, excruciating standup joint manipulation, and eye-popping aerial attacks without any wirework or digital effects. Although the film is fiction, there are many instances where art is imitating life in the film. The film opens with the two main characters Tae and Ed-K, a k-town street thug, engaged in a fight to submission on the 1st Street Bridge in Downtown L.A. In Korean culture, two men of different ages cannot be friends. The one who is older takes on the title of Big Brother or 'Hyung'. The only exception is if the younger defeats the elder in a fight to submission. The younger of the two, Ed-K loses the battle and Tae accepts him as his 'little brother'. Unfortunately for Tae, the responsibility of 'Hyung' is more than just a title and he must now look out for Ed-K, (Tae calls him 'Eddie'). As a result, he must cut ties with everyone in his life, including his father's martial arts legacy, as to not bring shame upon them and gets drawn into the violence and corruption of the k-town street life and organized crime. The film revolves around Tae's ongoing struggle to maintain his commitment to Eddie and risk his life in the process, or turn his back on Eddie, forgoing his duties as Hyung and escape with his life. The film is divided into three 10 minute episodes, the first of which being released and available for viewing on Oct. 11th at http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=FlpJJ&m=1e_RAFj6H03G6L&b=xb_PtJU2qUMwES8Z6o _SDw. The episode 2 will be released on the following Friday, Oct. 17th and episode 3 on the week following, Oct. 24th.
