Ooohh...I know nikyo well....*ouch* pretty impressive though that she nailed it like that...good teaching _______________________________________________ More likely good student, and a lot of luck that she was attacked in the same way as we had drilled for 45 min or so. Everything you thought you knew about how they work will go out the window. Skip dans will be earned that cover more than I have ever seen before. This is scheduled for the US Open. Details will be on the USAT site shortly. Its amazing how many 10degree black belts there are in assorted arts here on long island !!! Anyway... I maybe wrong please advise, I was under the impression that getting one's next belt "usually" had some sort of time frame ? On-the-Average... 2 years to attain 1st dan 2yrs for 2nd 3 for 3rd 4 for 4th 5 for 5th 6 for 6th 7 for 7th 8 for 8th dan 9 years for 9th dan 10 year wait for 10th dan (wait ten years for next test for your 10th dan ? --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2008 13:04:31 -0800 (PST) From: Jye nigma Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] what do you think? It may take time to grok the subtly of certain concepts and mechanics but, whatever you teach at any level should be immediately practical and applicable. --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2008 13:19:03 -0800 (PST) From: Jye nigma Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re: Video clip: freesparring To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net lol...I didn't think it was too bad. From what BT said his friend had guys over sparring so he couldn't resist, he got in the ring and they messed around. They weren't really trying to take each other's heads off. I think the TKD guy would have done much better if he wasn't messing around.   Jye --- On Wed, 11/5/08, timdnml@comcast.net wrote: From: timdnml@comcast.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: Video clip: freesparring To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 1:29 AM <
