Lights -n- stuff. I received the promo code since I'm a "partner in the firearms industry". Apparently good for me and "my students". Not sure if it is good on orders from outside the USA. GM West is also the vice-president of United States hapkido operations for the Kidohwe. Jere R. But, I gotta be honest regarding the skill set GM West brings to the basketball court. We are both originally from the East Coast. I met GM West, when he was simply Mr. West. I met him up at Kutchers Hotel that had the annual summer basketball program in Upstate New York.   There was a lot of buzzing going around about Mr. West and his play at Penn State. So, I was scrimmaging on an opposing team. Bobby Knight was coaching at West Point at the time. He was providing instruction to high school and college guys during this summer program.   Anyway, I was only 6' 0". I took West to the hole about 3 times. I jammed on him two times and blocked 2 of his shots and told him to get his game out of my lane.   But, he was a gentleman about it. He then went off to Vietnam.   Now look at him. A GM.   But, he is a class act.   Yes, it is a distant memory but I jammed on GM West.   Big K --__--__-- Message: 9 From: Joseph Cheavens To: Subject: RE: [The_Dojang] Congrats Date: Thu, 4 Dec 2008 11:00:22 -0600 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Wooot! I have always been verbally told what I did well, what was satisfactory, what needed improvement, and what I failed. Now that I am an instructor at a TaeKwonDo school, we still don't use testing grading sheets. I like the idea of a set testing protocol. Would anyone be willing to share a copy of a grading sheet and a results summary so that I can get an idea for one of our own? I don't mind if it is from a different martial art or has different sections on it. I can make one to fit our curriculum with yours as a guide. Thanks in advance! Mike Donahoo Mike, I have NEVER used test results sheets. Our grading scale is this: Either you do, or you don't. A or F. Pass or Fail. No inbetween. Of course notes are taken on everyone and improvements are discussed afterwards whether the student passes or not. But everyone fully understands what is expected of them. With that being said, is there anyone out there that still utilizes the old "black ball" method? I remember seeing tests where everyone on the testing committee had a bunch of white and black marbles. The committee chairperson would announce a person's name and then a box or bag was passed under the table to each committe member. If they thought the person passed, they put in a white marble. If they thought they failed, they got a black one. If the student got one black marble, they failed, and noone knew which committee member submitted the black marble. Thus, "Black Balled".
