I use a system that rates from A-F on the following: physical fitness kicks punches blocks weapon technique combinations forms sparring expansion of code of Hwa Rang Do evidence of courtesy, integrity, repsect etc After these are rated, then averaged, a student must score B+ for the rank pursued. A+ may earn a color belt skip.? Grades of F, although rare, will result in failure and an offer of tuition refunded for month with offer of termination. Of course if student requests, they get another chance but only in 4 months. Tally sheet is photocopied and given to student so that they might improve on skills.? Being a school teacher really influenced this.
