Masters Voorhees and Cormeny began their new venture over a year ago, with the idea to create action/adventure novels based around the 5 Tenets of Taekwondo. Geared toward older teens and adults, these novels are in a style similar to W.E. B Griffin and Tom Clancy, without the gratuitous carnality, and with a solid spiritual base. People have been snapping up copies of both books as quickly as they've been able to get their hands on them. Voorhees and Cormeny started out self-publishing their novels, but as the demand has increased, they have partnered with Amazon.com to serve as their point- of-sale. "We started out just writing because it was fun, and we were a little bored," said Master Voorhees. "Randy would send me a couple chapters, I would tweak them and send them back, and we simply wrote the first book over the course of about 6 months, using this back-and-forth style." "The second one simply took off on its own," Voorhees noted. "Master V. was on fire with the second book, " Cormeny, who is also a full-time Lutheran pastor, added. "He started off with that one, and between the two of us, it almost wrote itself in about 2 months." The first book, "Indomitable Spirit - The Power Within", introduces readers to the main characters, and tells a tale that involves kidnapping, white slavery, terrorism and intrigue that begins in a Midwestern city, and ends up in the White House. ISBN-13: 978-1440452109 ISBN-10: 1440452105 Book 2, "Integrity", picks up with the team that was formed in Book 1, four years later, and has as a backdrop, civil unrest, domestic paramilitary groups, and the mountains of Montana, while the main character, Jerguson, attempts to reconnect with the daughter who never knew him. ISBN-10: 1440462682 ISBN-13: 978-1440462689 Both books are available on Amazon.com. "We have to complete the 5 Tenets Series," Voorhees stated. "Besides...I'm dying to find out what happens to these characters we've created!" Take the opportunity to read the excerpts, and support these two Taekwondo instructors as they attempt to share the character traits of Taekwondo with people in a whole new way.
