The purpose is to provide significant international experience for young USA athletes to further their taekwondo development. All teams will be coached by members of the U.S. National Team coaching staff and will be accompanied by a team manager and trainer. Athletes on this team will receive first-hand experience in the USAT National Team system on travel, training and preparation for international tournaments. The trip costs include airfare, hotel, meals, water, travel medical insurance, tournament entry fee, local transportation, coach and trainer's fees and a USA warm-up. To ensure team quality the applicant must have finished in the top 8 at a USA national event in the last three years. The first event targeted by USAT is the Costa Rica Open to be held May 26-31, 2009, in a suburb of San Jose, Costa Rica. The junior competition days are May 30-31. For this event USAT is looking for athletes born between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 1995. The team would arrive in Costa Rica on May 28 and depart June 1. The estimated costs of the trip are in the range of $1750.00-$1850.00 per person. A more exact price will be determined after final numbers of athletes traveling are calculated. The application deadline is April 3, 2009. USAT reserves the right not to send a team if there is insufficient interest among its members. USAT will select the first 20 qualified applicants. A refundable deposit of $250.00 will be required to hold a place on the team. Please contact Jennifer Keurulainen at jennifer.keurulainen@usa-taekwondo.us if you are interested in being part of this team. You will need to submit a brief taekwondo resume detailing your competition record. --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Sun, 1 Mar 2009 15:28:47 -0800 From: The_Dojang To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Health Insurance Program Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net USA Taekwondo Announces New Health Insurance Program for Members USA Taekwondo February 25, 2009 USI Affinity Insurance Service and USA Taekwondo have partnered together to offer Health Insurance and other insurance products to its members and their customers.
