First is a 4-6 year old program - basically the children learn half the material for each belt. We do not offer a black belt in this program and upon graduation, they are awarded a junior white belt. They learn a lot of life & safety skills at this level. After that, we have a 7-12 year old program. The children learn all the material for each belt as they move their way to black belt. 13 year olds go to the adult class so long as they act like adults. Of course, with that said, I've got 30 year old men in class who will never be "adults"... :) We keep classes exciting by keeping things upbeat and pretty fast paced. Of course there are down days were we slip but for the most part, it's a fairly upbeat class. You can never beat all the competition and at some point, we all quit. We do what we can to work within the competition of after school sports. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. Just how it is. You know there are so many things with what we do that could easily fall under the category of repetitive-injuries if done incorrectly with even the slightest error in technique. The most important thing is to know what you doing and why. Now back to the adventures know known as the 2009 Fargo flood... Jere R.
