He also chastised me about being senior to me. Has some kind of hang up ... probably drives a big truck to make up for some type of shortcoming in his life. Go ponder. What is it you drive, an Austin Mini? :) Good luck with the Masters seminar on the 17th of April weekend. Wish I could be there. Stoopid economy ruining all my fun. Another article by list member Master Munyon. And on the Kang Rhee & Elvis connection, GM JR West was present at Kang Rhee's school at times when Elvis was there working out, or so I recall. But I think Elvis thought of himself as more of a Kenpo man than a TKD player. Correction on Dr. Kimm's name. He-Young Kimm is his American name, legally changed. So it is not really proper to put his family name first as you would with his Korean name, i.e. his Korean name is not KIMM He-Young. The World Taekwondo Federation will hold a book launch ceremony in Seoul, Korea on April 7, 2009. The book launch ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Crystal Ball Room on the 3rd floor of the Jamsil Lotte Hotel in Seoul. At the ceremony, two English books will be officially launched: a photo book titled “Taekwondo & The Olympics” and a compilation of works by WTF President Chungwon Choue, titled “Peace in Mind, Sports at Heart.” “The book launch ceremony will serve as a good occasion for the public to better understand the Olympic sport of taekwondo, Korea’s gift to the world, and will also serve as a good platform to chart out new visions for taekwondo and the WTF” said WTF President Choue. The event draws a special attention as it comes two weeks after the ASOIF General Assembly’s decision in Denver, the United States to propose the 26 sports, including taekwondo, on the 2012 London Olympic program be voted on in a bloc for the 2016 Olympic Games. The 208-page picture book, the first of its kind to be published by the WTF, contains a rich selection of photos and information related to the Olympic sport of taekwondo. It very clearly describes the history and philosophy of taekwondo, as well as its educational value. After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the WTF decided to publish a picture book on the Olympic sport of taekwondo in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of its founding. Taekwondo was a demonstration sport at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games as well as the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Taekwondo then debuted as an official sport in Sydney. It continued as an Olympic sport at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Taekwondo is also on the official program of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The book launch ceremony will also feature WTF President Choue’s book on taekwondo, which shows his thoughts on how to further develop taekwondo and the WTF. The 223-page book contains Dr. Choue’s ideas on the globalization of taekwondo, the creation of a new image of taekwondo, and a vision of sports and peace, as well as his reflections on life. The book also gives the public why WTF President Choue launched the Taekwondo Peace Corps in the summer of 2008 and the WTF’s ongoing efforts for fair judging and refereeing. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2009: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
