Even though we train against physical threats, the most sinister threats are those that are under perceived, or not perceived at all. Way too many people are growing up without a sense of honor or dignity. Way too many people are growing up without a sense of community awareness-----or a wharped sense of community awareness. This is a very real and present threat. Honor and dignity are things that must be taught, and I see these values lacking more and more in America---unfortunately. Now it seems that words like these are made fun of in pop culture. However, these are values that we MUST pass on to our students, our families, our communities, and anyone who will listen. A person with a sense of honor or a person with dignity would have NEVER done something like this. Even further, many of the negative things we see in our communities would not be happening if there were more people exhibiting these important values. J.
