The man is a very impressive technician. His style of hapkido has a very liberal dose of groundwork to it and he has developed a method of hapkido "sparring" which includes strikes and kicks as well as throws and groundwork. It was fun trying it out the last hour or so of the seminar after being introduced to a variety of basic hapkido techniques. (A couple of the seminar participants with hapkido backgorunds put on a very impressive match at one point.) The friend I have who is involved in the WHA has had the opportunity to go to its yearly training camp (in CO, I believe) and has gone on a trip to Korea with them. Sounds like some great opportunities and he's only had good things to say about the group to me. I would like to make some of the suggested seminars I will have to see if I can swing them. I am looking into offering HKD in the near future, as it has always been a fun style to me, and fits nicely with TSD, I think. Thanks for all the suggestions. A three-judge panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal issued that explanation today for ordering the release last month of a Tallahassee man who had been charged with first-degree murder. The unanimous opinion may conflict with a 2nd District Court of Appeal decision in 2007. It denied “stand-your-ground” immunity to a Valrico resident because he shot a man who had retreated from his garage after an argument. A spokeswoman for Attorney General Bill McCollum said no decision had yet been made on seeking a rehearing or appealing to the Florida Supreme Court. --__--__-- Message: 7 From: Ray To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Hapkido Date: Wed, 19 Aug 2009 13:02:06 -0700 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net The USKMAF is always an excellent selection. I believe the next huge extravaganza is in three weeks. Check hapkido.com for more info. You won't learn watered down Hapkido, just good ole traditional real- deal Hapkido.
