At the most recent MA supershow in Vegas, I spoke with Kimber Hill (of little dragon creation fame), and attended her seminar. She has created a program called Pre-Skill. If you go to the MAIA website at www.masuccess.com, you can read about the Pre-Skill program. I use it with my little kids class now, and I have to say, it is fantastic. I don't do some of the things in it, but it very easily adapts to whatever curriculum you teach. Each class has 2-3 pages of instructions and tips on content and how to run the class, and each class has a video segment that you can watch that has Kimber actually teaching the class so you can watch the exact things you will be doing. Every month, it is a new focus, and all your classes are planned out for you. I have one of my phenomenal junior instructors leading the little kids class, and it works well because she can read the outline at home, watch the video at home, and show up and teach it. Since I've started using it, going on 2 months now, my little kids class has grown, retention is sky high, and kids and parents both like it. But, more importantly, I love it, and highly recommend it. If so what were your thoughts? Do you have any other suggestions for similar programs? I'm looking at starting a class and would like some ideas. They are 16" x 8" and 1.8" thick. In theory the paver should be easier because it is longer but is there a difference is what they are made of? I broke concrete patio blocks, One with a palm strike and one with an elbow strike. I bought them at Home Depot. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2009: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
